What a week politically! The Massachusetts Miracle happened changing the political landscape of America overnight. It was an inspiring victory which demonstrates that Americans still want a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. We don’t want Washington going against the people and will fight for our rights at the ballot box.
Washington doesn’t know best. We do. The best source of ideas comes from the people in communities like Buffalo, Cole Camp, Crocker, and Archie. We don’t want the government taking over our businesses and running our lives. Earlier this year they took over car companies so now we have Government Motors. As a result, business owners in our district who have been providing a valuable service to our communities and providing jobs for years have been put out of business. It is wrong but only one example of the Washington power grab.
Earlier this year the politicians took over banks and passed cap and tax out of the U.S. House which would take over our energy industry. Lately they’ve tried to take over our health care giving the government control of one out of every six dollars in our economy and major decisions in our lives.
Like the people of Massachusetts, we won’t stand for this. There’s another alternative: voting people out of office who don’t represent us and sending someone who will fight for us.
In Lexington, Massachusetts, in 1775, a shot was heard round the world that started the American Revolution.
I think we’ve just witnessed evidence of a similar shot coming from Massachusetts starting another revolution—one of people standing up for their ideas and beliefs—not with guns, but with our voices being heard at the ballot box in November.
