What a crowd! Thanks to everyone who attended the Freedom Rally in Lebanon, Missouri last weekend. Your voices are being heard in Washington, D.C. Thanks for all you do for the cause of lower taxes and smaller government.
If you travel east to the offices of Americans for Tax Reform, you’ll see Ronald Reagan’s giant “Taxpayer Protection Pledge” hanging in their lobby – it was his commitment to oppose higher taxes, and it’s the same one I signed in Lebanon.
The Pledge reads in part:
“I, Vicky Hartzler … will, ONE, oppose any and all efforts to increase the marginal income tax rates for individuals and/or businesses; and TWO, oppose any net reduction or elimination of deductions and credits, unless matched dollar for dollar by further reducing tax rates.”
A special thanks to the two volunteers from the crowd, Tom Luthy, Jr. and Brandon Turbner, who served as Pledge witnesses. Because of the energy and enthusiasm of people like them, we’re holding politicians accountable, not just for words, but real actions.
